In 2024, LinkedIn launched a set of mini-games in its app and website, Queens among them. The concept revisits the old chess queens problem and blends it with the Star Battle puzzle: on a grid split into colored regions, you place one queen per row, per column and per region, with none touching another, not even diagonally. Each grid has a single solution and is solved by pure logic.

Success came quickly: sharing your solving time became a small daily professional ritual. But the format stays deliberately spare: a single grid per day, the same for everyone, inside LinkedIn.

How to play Queens on LinkedIn

On LinkedIn, the steps are simple: sign in to your account, open the games section, often reachable from the feed or the menu, and select Queens. Tap a cell to place a queen, tap again to mark it forbidden, and once more to clear it. Once the daily grid is solved, you can compare your time, then you wait until the next day for the following one.
