Crossclimb is a free word puzzle you can play right in your browser, with no download and no sign-up. The idea: five clues give you five words, which you then stack into a ladder where two neighboring rungs differ by a single letter. Once the ladder is set, you still have to guess the two missing rungs, at the top and the bottom.

In progression mode, levels flow with a difficulty that rises at your own pace, with no daily cap. Every day, a challenge shared by all players awaits, with a leaderboard and a streak to keep alive, and every week a tougher ladder puts your vocabulary to the test. Crossclimb works just as well on desktop as on mobile.
